How does it work?
Ayurveda looks at the individual and determines their unique lifestyle and routine. We are made up of the five elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space) and individual consciousness. The combination of these form the doshas.
Knowing that we consist of all the above mentioned elements it is safe to say that each person has all three Doshas. Nevertheless every human being has a unique consitution Prakruti, which is like the blueprint of ones being. This has been set at the day of conception depending on emotions, genetics, lifestyle and diet of the parents. Consequently the dominance of Doshas in one person varies. Prakrutri can be determined by one's physiological and personality traits, as well as general likes and dislikes.
Virkruti looks at the present state of the three doshas in one person. If Virkruti equals Prakruti then the person is in a happy balanced state. However due to diet, lifestyle, emotions, age and environment the Virkruti reflects a different dominance in doshas. An Ayurvedic Health Advisor can help you to balance your state by looking at the above mentioned factors and supporting you to integrate it in to your daily routine.
