Celery Juice

Updated: May 14, 2020

Lately there is this trend going on about the celery juice diet. This entails drinking a whole celery on an empty stomach and then waiting for at least 30 minutes before food.

Since a few friends started doing it and I thought of giving it a try I now since a month have been having my daily celery juice. You can either do it with a smoothie (then you want to add a bit of water, otherwise you won’t be able to blend it) or a juicer. Below a few benefits I came across when doing online research

Main Health Benefits of Celery Juice

  • Celery has powerful anti-inflammatory effects

  • These anti-inflammatory properties can help with acid reflux, bloating, IBS, constipation, acne, eczema, and other inflammation issues in the body.

  • Celery juice is very high in vitamin K which promotes general bone and heart health.

  • Because of celery’s diuretic properties (high water content) and the fact that it contains magnesium, phthalides, and potassium, celery may actually help those with high blood pressure.

  • It is high in vitamin C, which is critical for your immune system.

  • Celery contains bioactive flavonoids that help to fight and prevent cancer cells.

So far I like my morning ritual of having this green juice upon awakening. I am less bloated and I also feel more clear headed. So why not give it a try? It does take some work in the morning though :)
