Rest. Reconnect. Rebirth.

A journey through the self to the self.
10 Day online Spring Cleans

12-21 March (inc replays), 10 Day Online Detox Retreat

Ayurveda recommends regularly detoxing, especially during seasonal transitions. However, the transition from winter to spring is the perfect moment for a detox. Why is that?

In winter, we tend to eat heavier foods and are naturally less active. Late winter and early spring are dominated by the Kapha dosha, which is composed of the earth and water elements and tends to be heavy, lethargic, cold, and slow.

In Ayurveda, the beginning of spring marks the transition from the Kapha season to the Pitta season. As the warmth of spring arrives, our bodies naturally want to shed the excess Kapha accumulated during winter. The surrounding air becomes warmer, and the extra fats and fluids held by the body during winter become more fluid and want to leave the body. This is a natural cleansing process for the body.

To support your body in this process, early spring is the ideal time of year for an Ayurvedic cleanse.

During this 10-day home retreat, we combine an Ayurvedic detox with practices that invite you to journey through your inner landscape. The detox aims to balance Kapha, while the yoga, meditations, masterclasses, and journal assignments harmonize your body, mind, soul, and spirit.

Why Cleansing

While we are busy running from A to Z, our body is simultaneously busy to eliminate waste, renew cells and fighting off infections, recovering after workouts.

A detox provides us with the opportunity to hit the SACRED PAUSE BUTTON. We shift to lighter, more easily digestible foods, allowing Ama to be processed and affording our systems a much-needed respite. During this time, our bodies can focus on rejuvenation, purging toxins, recovering, and letting go.

This pause enables our bodies to reconnect with their innate wisdom, initiating an internal cleanse. Our digestive fire, known as Agni, is reset and begins to function optimally once more.

According to Ayurveda, detoxing is a great way to stimulate the digestive system and get it working optimally again. It also digests excess doshas and Ama. The start of spring is the time to do an Ayurvedic detox!

The food is nurturing and delicious and you connect to the people around you from a place of wellness. There is time for silence and discovery and of course for fun and play.

After the 10 day online retreat you feel recharged and you take something home that is most valuable - a more true version of yourself.

How to Cleanse?

Traditionally, in Ayurveda, detoxing often involves following a mono-diet of kitchari. Kitchari is known for its cleansing and nourishing properties and contains all six tastes, which optimally support your digestion.

Ayurveda recommends a simple approach that can easily be integrated into your work or family life, which is often more effective in the long term and gentler on your body.

During the first three days, you prepare your body by eliminating coffee, sugar, alcohol, dairy, meat, fish, and refined products from your diet. Afterward, you eat only kitchari for a few days. In this detox, you won't experience hunger, yet it remains highly effective.

Following these days, you gradually transition back to a balanced, healthy diet. This approach provides your digestion with a substantial break from its usual activities, allowing your body to cleanse itself on a deep level.

During an Ayurvedic detox, you can support the cleansing process with gentle forms of exercise and adjustments to your lifestyle. However, because various emotions may surface, and you may encounter stubborn thought patterns, taking adequate rest is also essential. We guide you day by day and are available for your questions and support!
